Field trip off Portugal

I recently took part in a field trip up and down the coast off Portugal within the aims of the OCEANKELP project. We found out that levels of herbivory over kelp recruits are dramatically high around central Portugal, limiting the growth of kelp recruits. Growth measurements were also implemented up and down the coast through the punch-hole method. It was rewarding to find remarkable kelp forest off the coast of Viana do Castelo. It was a great week with superb companion of good friends and colleagues.
