We’ve just published a paper that demonstrated that maintenance of seagrass clonal integration plays a relevant role in coping with a particular type of stressor: here, sedimentation (=burial). We manipulated levels of sedimentation inside plots where the clonal integration of the seagrass Cymodocea nodosa was either severed or maintained (see the picture below).
